To trim dog nails, use dog nail clippers in a calm, well-lit area. Hold the paw, and clip small portions at a 45-degree angle. If your dog has white nails, only clip the nail to where you can see the pink/red line end. The pink is the quick or blood vein that goes to the nail. If you accidently cut into that, it will bleed and be painful to your dog. If the dogs nails are black, it is difficult to determine how much you can clip before hitting that blood vein. In this case, we recommend just clipping the tip of the nail and taking them to an expert like your groomer to take them shorter. Smooth edges with a nail file or grinder, and reward your dog during the process to keep them calm.
