All Dogs Rock advocates and only uses training methods that are humane, pain free and approved by The American Humane Society.  That means we do not use shock, choke or pinch collars, jerking, shouting, spraying or anything that will hurt a dog or break the trust between dog and human.  In other words, we use the methods that will ensure our canine companions will learn in a loving environment, using the safest methods based on the science of canine physiology and behavior.

Our trainer, Gari Weinraub, is a highly experienced behavior consultant and obedience trainer, using the Positive Reinforcement Methods outlined in the Humane Society.  Gari uses the ‘clicker’ method of training, which is a sound that quickly translates to dogs, making learning and communication rapid, highly rewarding, and SIMPLE, FUN, EFFECTIVE! 

The basis behind this type of training originated with military dolphin training in the early 1960’s.  It became the preferred method of training in zoos as well.  You can’t yell at a wild animal or put a leash on it to train it to do something.  Animal behaviorists have been using Positive Reinforcement to train wild and captive zoo animals for many years. 

So why not use it to train our canine companions?  It works!  It’s fun, safe and very rewarding.  Understanding how dogs think and how they learn is the key to successful training.
